illustration Friday: Portrait
I don't have time to do something new this week. I know, I am lame. I'm trying to finish up a picture book, do a little book cover and prepare for the wrilting and illustrating conference next week. Anyway, I thought I would post this little portrait. This is from "Showdown at Slickrock", my very first picture book (1995). Wow, that was a long long time ago. This was always one of my favorite portrait type paintings I have ever done. If I remember right it was inspired by some photos of Butch Cassidy and his gang. I still have this one hanging on my wall in a cool oval frame.
Shucks, since I'm posting old portraits, I thought I would post this one too. A bunch of little portraits of famous Americans done for Leapfrog. Enjoy.

I'm trying out a new Avatar, and since I value your input I thought I'd bounce it off you. I think its more readable than my other, but let me know what you think. I know your busy, no rush. But when you get a chance come by my blog. I've been working on it a bit since my surgery. Later.
P.S. Thanks for the 'gorgeous' comment at Toon Club. You're a funny guy. Guy.
These are great! Only wish the images was a little larger so I can study the details:). I'm a big fan of your work and will definitely have to pick up some of your books one of these days. Are they sold at Borders, Barnes & Noble etc.?
Take care and good luck with everything,
Hans
