Illustration Friday: Skyline

These are probably the most recent paintings I've done with a "skyline" in them. I would normally picture a city when I think of a skyline, but I live in Utah and these are more like the skylines I'm used to. The paintings are from a children's book I've been working on, but the project got killed and now I'm left with a bunch of paintings that don't really have a purpose. I figured it would be okay to post them. It might be the only time they will ever be seen. Enjoy.

Hope your lovely paintings find their true purpose soon! Meantime, I'm glad we get to see them first! :D

It's too bad about the project getting killed beause that's the only cute snake I have ever seen.

Well that sucks! Sorry to hear that your project got killed. Like your images - maybe time to self publish?

The skiing snake is the best. Such a lovely character, too bad the book got the axe, looks like it would have been an incredibly fun story.

Man I ‘d love to get into children books, these are really cool paintings, sorry the project got cancelled… I guess their loss is our gain, still it is a shame. Great work

Wow Guy! What you do with acrylics... truly incredible! Sorry about the cancelation, but I know other work is out there waiting for your talents to make them amazing! Good luck, and thanks for posting.

The skiing one is cute and silly, but I like the sleeping one best. I like the cool evening colors bathing the canyon rocks and ledges. The snake is so peaceful and happy in his home. I like his pattern/scaling. Thanks for sharing.

Really great illustrations and good composition too. What a shame that project didn't go through, it looks like it could've been a fun book. Good thing we have blogger, so you can at least share them with us, so we can get inspired:D

Great stuff!

What a shame, Guy, to have this project cancelled - and such beautiful paintings too. That publisher is sure missing out!
