I sketched this a long time ago for Illustration Friday: Sea, but I never got around to adding color. I pulled it out again because I needed a drawing to use for a demo during my class. I was teaching the class how I stretch paper. When I was finished stretching I had a perfectly good sketch all preped and ready to be painted... so I did.

thats dope! ive been on a mobster kick lately, gearing up for the final season of the sopranos, so im totally feelin this.
hahaha so awesome!love how you can feel the heaviness of the stone and how the clothing is interacting with the water. Simply amazing
This is hilarious... the sketch was probably great, but I love it with the color. I'm glad you decided to paint it. Excellent!
nice one guy. I love how you added the "work tool" that got thrown in with him. Nice detail. I sure hope that little fish knows mouth-to-mouth.
So how do you stretch paper?
It's so long since I stretched a piece of paper, but I was always afraid to paint on it after all that work! This is another great piece; it's all good but I particularily like the stone. Next time I need to draw stone or metal (as in your gladiator piece) I will be back here for some plagiarism!
Great idea! I really like the colors & the shape of the mobster dude. Fantastic!
HEY!! I remember this guy!! Great to see him in color!!
You're somethin' else with details, Guy! I love how you draw textures--like the piece of concrete for instance. All the little cracks and nicks--that's why I love Andrew Wyeth--his dry brush technique.
Great piece! And of course, love the Godfather, or any references to it for that matter :0)
