Aloha

Sorry for the lack of posts, but I had to go to Hawaii for the last 10 days. It was tough leaving Utah for the sun, surf and relaxation of Maui, but it had to be done. It was a great trip and I had huge plans to do a lot of sketching, I even took a little watercolor set but, laziness was more powerful than the pen. The best thing that came out of my sketchbook was done by my daughter. Very nice hula girl. My sketches are lame, although I can see that drawing Tiki's could be fun. Maybe I'll post some photos from the trip later.

I'm so jealous. I wish I had an excuse like that to be lazy. Too bad I'm just lazy (actually, it's probably more like "busy"). I like your Tiki's but the distance scale in your daughter's hula girl beats them all. What an eye!

Your daughter can draw!!

Nice sketches. I imagine it would be hard to sketch while vacationing in Hawaii.

I just can't see you wearing a grass skirt and a coconut bra and playing a ukelele.

Hope you all had fun!

Aloha!
Love Maui!
Hope to go next year.
I am glad you had a great vacation. Your daughter's drawing is so cute. Even illustrators have to rest some time.

{insert lame joke about not bringing home the statuette from The Brady Bunch here}

The best thing about your daughter's drawing is the observation of the palm tree. Good eyes on that kid.
