I painted this for my friend and excellent illustrator, Stacy Curtis. While I was at it I thought I'd try doing a video of my process. Who knows if this will work. The quality isn't that great, but it gets better near the end. If it is stupid or too fast or whatever, let me know. Come on, it's my first try. Anyway, enjoy. Hope you like it Stacy.
Great work as always, and thanks for posting this, Mr. Tacos, I'm always intrigued to see how other artists work. How long did that take, just out of curiosity?
Thanks for the comments designsender- I think you're right about getting a better quality. I learned a lot by doing this. The clear pen is just a paintbrush with a clear handle. It's from Royal.
Mr. Robert- The first part was 11 minutes, then my battery died. The second half was about 5 minutes. I took a lot longer to build the video.
Sean- The whole thing is in acrylic. The highlights were just white acrylic.
Thanks for the video. I learn a little something new every time I watch someone else paint. Yes, the quality of the video was a little off, but I got the drift of what you were doing and learned a few things. I'm sure you'll get better at it.
thank you for sharing the process with us... its a real treat watching a master at work... also enjoyed the other leetal gif images which you've put up... very nice... :)

Cheers.
Very nice (the song from "The Triplets of Belleville" was a nice choice, too!)
Are the last touches (the highlights and backlights) done with something opaque like acrylic or gauche?
Thanks for the comments

Hi!
Just discovered you and your blog. Amazing work! Thanks for posting this - I always enjoy seeing other artists at work like this.
Keep posting!
Wonderful! Cool!
Wish I could finish my illustrations in 3 minutes and 13 seconds! ;-)
Very cool to see how you work.
I very much enjoy your style.
[re:The Muffin's comment above. If you do this again, perhaps put a clock in view]
Maybe slow it down, grow a curly fro, and paint landscape pictures. You can talk about pretty-little trees... and so on.
Bob Ross is rolling over in his grave, giving you a thumbs up, and then rolling back down in.

That's pretty amazing. I love the idea of art within art for his tattoos!
what a fun style.
Makes me chuckle.
thanks.

Its a bit too fast but looks really interesting what type of paint did you use?
Edith- I used acrylics.
Awesome, what surface do you work on, is that illustration board?
