Paul Bunyan and Babe the blue ox. When thinking about all of the things I could do to illustrate "blue" my mind just kept coming back to these two. I'm not entirely sure if I like it or not, but it was kinda fun to do. Enjoy.

This is by far, my favorite illo for "Blue"!! I love Babe's eyes. Nice job!
Perfect Guy! Your mastery of charicature is unmatched - you never fail to deliver joy with each illustration! This is a well balanced composition, great colors, and that touch of whimsy so indicative of your work. Love it!!
Dennis- Thanks. Big handle for a big axe. What else would you use?
erilyn, Tony, Jonesy, Tut- a BIG thanks.
Don- I like it, but I'm not crazy about it. Thanks for your comment.
Paige and Jamie- I'm using acrylics. I started doing this one with some simple washes, but I screwed up the sky and I ended up painting it a lot thicker.
I see a hint of you in the nose and eyes, Guy...of Paul...not Babe. Maybe you'll start getting work for Brawny Paper Towels...send them a sample. :-) Anyway, good job as usual.

Nice, Guy! I really like how you did the trees. What are you using to color these? Are they acrylics?

Great job, Guy! Babe the Blue ox! Great idea.
I like it that, even though you are a busy full-time illustrator, you still have time to do these exercises and share with us.
