Weird. I did this quick study of a cat skull that I have sitting in my studio just yesterday, and I find out today that the topic is cats. Lucky me. I did it in gouache. About an hour. My dad found this skull in a pasture and thought I should have it. I must say it is in perfect condition, picked clean and bleached white. It looks better in real life.

Love this panting a lot!! Great job!
Extremely well done! Skulls are just great to do and you're an expert!
WHERE are the CAT TACOS????
COOL! I bet this is the ONLY cat skull that will show up on IF! I have a cow skull laying around... guess I'll have to wait till COW week....
Good thing you are so psychic. What's next week's topic? So, you had to delete a comment...was somebody mad or offended? Maybe they wanted a flower or two next to it...you know..."no hard feelings" toward the cat. J/K
I think the skull rendering is done well. The shadow on the wall behind it looks a little odd as far as the shape and direction of the brush strokes. But I like the color choice as well...almost monochromatic.
it's neat-o to see another style, nice color choices.
That deleted comment was mine.... somehow I posted the same thing twice! I just deleted one of them....
... while I'm here... those are really great little drawings for E is for.... I really like 'em...
outstanding! I'm a collector of animal skulls and I have a cat skull and it looks just like this. your colors and highlights are very cool.
Very "life-like", if I can even use that term here... hmm... anyway, it woul dhave taken me all day and a few throw-aways to get to that look.
Also love it 'cuz I'm not a cat fan. ;-)
you are a far, far better soul than I to attempt such a thing that is called the painting with the Gouache. It is quite loverly. look how fancy you are with the reflected light and all that whosits and whatsits of still life painting. i'm just wishing for some sort of small rodent, dead and pinned to the wall behind it. would be nice, yes?
and no. no nixies for you.
Very cool guy. This definitely shows that it takes more than some funny characters to do the great work that you do. You have a real foundation in the basics. That makes all of your other work wonderful.
Awesome job!! Love the colors you chose as well!
My what HUGE eyesockets you have, kitty!
Nicely done, Guy. : )
This is so interesting, and definitely a cool new way to approach the topic this week! :0)
