Digital or Gouache

Just playing around a little bit. This first image was done in photoshop and the second was done in gouache. Each one took about the same amount of time. I can't figure out which one I like more. What do you think? One thing I learned is that my scanner isn't very accurate.

This is part of a very rough sketch for a book I'm working on. It seemed to fit the topic so I went with it. If I had a bit more time I might have done something a little better. Oh well.
