Oil Study

Busted out the oils and did a quick test. This one is small. (2.5x2.5) I really like the feel of the oils. Nice and creamy. My biggest problem with them is the drying time. Most of my deadlines make it hard to go with oils. Oh well. This painting has skeleton earrings so, I thought it would go with the season. What do you think?

I like it! It also gives me the idea to dye my hair green for halloween. Or, better yet, Lorian should!

I like the green too. I am going to go blond for Halloween--if I can find a frumpy looking poncho to wear with my designer brand ankle brace. Know any fast knitters?

But Guy, I do like this. It reminds me of a certain young woman who grew up in this neighborhood. I'll bet you can't guess who...

mary? because she WOULD die her hair green?

No--but good one. She reminds me of a certain girl who is all grown up, married and moved away. I don't know if you knew her in her teenage years. But she grew up like a princess and she spent some time working at Disneyland and if she would've stopped by one of those arists who do caricatures I think it would've come pretty close to this. Can you guess now?

Nice painting as always! :) Love the character design.

I love it, and your work is always a delight. But as much as oils are fun, you get just as beautiful a result as you do with your other media that dry fast. I am saving my oil for when I am old and don't care how long it takes to dry. Did you find any great pleasure working in oil as opposed to anything else?
