My Studio

I was taking some pictures of the studio for something else, and I thought I would post them so people could see the place where I work. It is a rare look into the lair of a sub-basement dwelling artist. My wife even allows me to leave the lair once a day to get the mail. She thinks the fresh air might be good for me. She's a peach.

It's much better than mine at the moment...a corner of my bedroom. It might stay that way longer due to the recent depreciation in publication funds for my latest book. Enjoy your sub-basement.

Ohhhh thank you thank you thank you for showing these. I love seeing other people's studios. I wish I had a proper studio--I work out of my bedroom. Hrrumph!

Cool! So tidy and organized! I wish I was tidy and organized, mine is just a maze of paper stacks from the desk to the door!

so did you clean it before you took this picture? tell the truth... if you are this neat your wife is one lucky woman!

She IS one lucky woman! She only has to (rather, chooses to) clean the studio a little now and then--mostly just vacuuming, and occasionally helping with the deep dusting. I can vouch for him...it mostly looks like this all the time, unless wife and kids come to visit. He might have straightened up just a bit, but not much. He's a tidy fellow...just has too many toys (airplane models, stuff, etc.).

I actually try coaxing him out with food now and then, but it's a pretty tough sell.

Woo! There is something very familar looking about your studio. Similar stuff sitting around. Great line up of Macs you have there. Wish I had the cheese grater G5... sigh.

Would you believe I have the exact same drafting table? I recently took out the large drawer. I hated to but it allows me to sit up higher and use the table better.

Thanks for posting these pictures... It is always fun to see where others work! ...say... is that a tractor seat stool you have there?

Jonesy- It's cool that you have the same drawing table. I love mine although, I don't use it for drawing. I only paint there. I do all of my drawing in front of my computer. That table, by the way, is great. It's an old 4x9 library table. Big and roomy.

Yes those are tractor seat chairs. I built them both a long time ago. Very comfy.

WOW! This is the tidiest, most organized studio I have ever seen... it's beauuuutiful ... would you like to visit mine! on the other hand perhaps not. I'd post a picture but to be honest you can't actually see the studio. It's buried waaaaaaay beneath papers, boxes, paints, cutting mats, oh there's that scissor box I was looking for! HAH! Thank you for sharing your studio. Actually, I think we should all post images of our studios and have a studio share week or month! I will post on my blog and list your blog too, let's see how many studios we can visit by the end of the year - YEAH!

Your studio looks like my kind of dream studio, a safe haven, bliss away from all the hustle and bustle of life. I wish I could have a place like that someday. *sigh* I'm very envious of you right now.
